Jazz Singing Summer School

A rare and exciting opportunity for you to sing with a big band, provided by the course running alongside, under the guidance of big band singers Anton Browne and Jenny Howe.

You will be allocated a big band song at the start of the course, after your voice has been assessed. A CD of all arrangements will be provided so please bring a portable CD player. Some sort of recorder will also be useful.

If you have some contemporary singing experience this is an ideal course.

What else will you be working on?

• Duets - these will be provided during the course
  
• Group harmony pieces
  
• Microphone technique and p.a.
  
• Vocal technique relevant to swing singing
  
• Stage craft and performance
  
• Making a song your own - please bring two jazz standards with chord charts
  
• Essential music theory - chord charts transposition, counting in etc.

You also get free entry to the 'A Night of Jazz' concert on the Thursday
